Team Lonnie Lear

Lonnie joined Open Road Capital in June 2021 and brings over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry. He began his career in automotive sales during college summer breaks and advanced through roles in F&I and executive management with the Hall Automotive Group, which was later acquired by Mile One Automotive. He then joined World Omni Financial Corp, the first import automotive captive finance company in the U.S., where he led the dealership takeover team within the commercial credit department, managing operations for dealerships that had fallen out of financial trust.

Prior to joining Open Road, Lonnie served for nine years as Director of Operations at Holand Leasing USA, a subsidiary of Omega Leasing Canada Ltd, one of the largest and most respected automotive leasing companies in Canada. He was responsible for launching the company’s U.S. operations, developing standard operating procedures, overseeing the implementation of proprietary software, and driving the operation to $80 million in sales.

Lonnie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Finance from Nova Southeastern University.
