This partnership was initiated through the purchase of Sierra Chevrolet, Honda and Subaru stores. In that transaction, Open Road contributed the capital into the newly formed partnership with Rinaldi Halim who contributed his Los Angeles and Monrovia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram stores. Eleven stores now comprise this group through the acquisitions of iconic Felix Chevrolet in downtown LA, Infiniti of Duarte, and Nissan of Duarte, as well as an award of one of the first eighteen Ineos Franchises in the United States and open point awards from leading brands Acura and Subaru.

With a century-old history dating back to the days of selling Ford Model Ts for $525 each, Pritchard Auto has evolved and expanded to offer a diverse range of automotive brands including Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Lincoln, VW, Isuzu Trucks and an internal leasing company to meet the needs of its retail and commercial customers. In fact, Pritchard has grown into a commercial sales leader across brands throughout the US.  Open Road’s minority equity investment provided the capitalization Pritchard required to fund the growth anticipated from its national customers who rely upon Pritchard’s capabilities to support their business plans.

The Herrin-Gear Automotive Group, a premier family-owned and operated dealership group, was founded in 1968 by Carl Herrin and George Gear. Open Road partnered with the Herrin Family in this diverse portfolio, including BMW, Chevrolet, Infiniti, and Lexus dealerships, providing liquidity for financial diversification while the family maintained an equity stake, continued involvement, and preserved its multigenerational legacy in the business. As part of the transaction, 26-year employee Reed Howell became President of the group and an equity partner. Herrin-Gear is a multi-time Elite of Lexus Award winner and Chevrolet Elite Dealer of the Year Award winner.

A leading automotive destination in Northern California - Toyota of Walnut Creek is highly ranked in market penetration and CSI. Open Road partnered with Price Family Dealerships to acquire and reestablish this store as the market leader that it is today.

Urban / populated suburban auto markets across the US, including Walnut Creek, are challenged given that the highest and best use of property often exceeds that of an auto dealership. Open Road pursued a multiyear solution of assembling and rezoning surrounding properties that allowed for the construction of a state-of-the-art dealership as well as a residential complex in the heart of Walnut Creek that is subsidizing the construction cost of the dealership. This nearly $400 million current project is adding considerable value to the partnership while allowing Toyota of Walnut Creek to remain as a fixture and cornerstone in its community.

Open Road Capital, in partnership with Jesse Hord, acquired BMW of Ridgefield, a multiyear recipient of the prestigious BMW Center of Excellence Award for exceptional customer satisfaction, operating in a 50,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Ridgefield CT. This transaction served as a precursor to a broader partnership with the Keeler family in Keeler Motor Car Company, a renowned family-owned dealership group in Latham, NY. Keeler has been a trusted name in the region for over 50 years. In addition to the Mercedes-Benz, BMW, MINI, and Honda stores included in the transaction with Keeler, the partnership added Genesis of Ridgefield, further strengthening its presence in the luxury market while reinforcing the partners shared commitment to quality, innovation, and customer-focused service.

Open Road Capital teamed up with Patrick Lustig of Lustig Automotive Holdings to acquire Beach Cities Toyota and Jaguar Land Rover Cerritos. This strategic move expands Open Road's presence in both the luxury and mainstream automotive markets, reinforcing a commitment to excellence, innovation, and superior customer service. With decades of experience and a shared vision for growth, this partnership is poised to elevate both brands and enhance the customer experience in Orange County, California.

Open Road Capital partnered with Edgar Castillanos on a number of acquisitions in 2024 in Southern California including EUROCAR & Lotus of Orange County, the West Coast’s largest luxury and exotic boutique featuring over 150 vehicles on display in their massive 55,000 square foot climate-controlled facility.

This partnership includes Trust Palmdale Honda, Trust Antelope Valley Subaru and Lancaster Honda, all of which deliver an elevated experience to clientele.

Open Road Capital acquired Beyer Auto Group in October of 2024. Beyer was established in 1973 in Falls Church, VA by Don Beyer, Sr., eventually expanding throughout Northern Virginia.
