Team Brian DePouli

Brian joined Open Road Capital with over 22 years of industry experience and a distinguished track record in automotive retail development. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Senior Director of Construction & Facilities at Asbury Automotive Group, where he led nationwide capital development initiatives and executed complex dealership construction projects. His leadership was instrumental in delivering high-impact, brand-aligned facilities across a range of markets.

Before his tenure at Asbury, Brian held a similar leadership position at Hendrick Automotive Group, one of the largest privately held dealership groups in the United States. Throughout his career, he has successfully completed more than 175 dealership projects, including pioneering efforts such as the first implementations of the Nissan 2.0 Image and Acura Gen 4 Image programs.

Brian began his career in professional motorsports as a Team Engineer in the NASCAR Cup Series, working with Brett Bodine Racing and AJ Foyt Racing. His background in engineering and motorsports provided a strong foundation for his transition into automotive retail construction and real estate development.

He holds an MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Motorsport Engineering, both from UNC Charlotte. In 2019, Brian was recognized by Automotive News as one of its “40 Under 40” honorees for his leadership and contributions to the industry.
